High School is right around the corner, are you ready? We are planning a special Retreat for all FBCA 8th graders directed by a few of the leaders among our upper classmen and recent graduates and supervised by members of the FBCA faculty! This will be a fun and exciting time for our young “Warriors” to be challenged to be their best spiritually, academically, physically, and socially as they enter high school!
The theme of the Retreat will be “Living a life of Love” from 1 Corinthians Chapter 13. The emphasis will be love for God, love for self, and love for others. Also we will point out “forks in the road” in nature that illustrate how important it is to make right choices.
Mixed in with the Bible study will be lots of fun through competition games, and nature hikes. It will be a time of team building for all the classmates. We believe this will get the 8th graders ready for a great start in high school.
The retreat will be held April 21-22 at Trinity Pines Conference Center on Lake Livingston. This is a nice Baptist encampment about two hours north of here, not far from Huntsville. We will leave FBCA on Friday at 12:30 pm and return to FBCA on Saturday around 6:00 pm. The students will stay in bunk houses. Bed linens are provided. Students will need to bring a towel. The cost is $60 which includes lodging, meals, and camp insurance. If you look online for Trinity Pines Baptist Encampment, you can see their facilities.
It is very important that every student attends if possible. I know April is a very busy month and you may have unavoidable conflicts. If that is the case, we understand. But if they can go, they will enjoy it greatly. It will be great for them and great for the spiritual morale of the school.
Please email my assistant, Jessica Shuman at firstname.lastname@example.org to register. Scholarships are available if necessary. Email me or call if you need more information. I hope your child can benefit from this wonderful experience!
